How can I be sure that the outlet is real?
Poptotheshops undertake checks to confirm that the retailer exists. It is then up to them to offer a great service. If you feel that that things need to improve then tell the retailer via the feedback

Am I charged VAT on delivery costs?
If the delivery address of the order is within the E.U. you will pay VAT on postage, provided the retailer that you are buying from is VAT registered. The amount of VAT that you are charged on your total delivery cost depends on the VAT liability of the products being ordered. For example if your order contains three books (at 0% VAT) and one alarm clock (at 20% VAT) you will only pay 25% of the standard VAT rate on your delivery cost. This is because only 25% of the total contents of your order are subject to VAT (the alarm clock).
